Privacy Policy

The short version

The free tools on this site run in your browser. Values you type into calculators and interactive tools are processed on your device. Tool inputs are not sent to Google Analytics and are not stored in a GentleTools server-side tool account. We do use Google Analytics for page visits, as described below. We also collect information you give us directly: your email if you subscribe, and payment details if you buy a planner or app (handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card number).

What we collect

Email address. If you subscribe for a free planner or updates, we collect your email through our newsletter provider, Kit (ConvertKit), to send you the download and occasional new tool or planner announcements. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.

Payment information. If you buy a planner or app, checkout is handled by Stripe. We receive your email address and order details so we can deliver your purchase and help with support — we never see or store your full card number.

Contact form messages. If you message us through the contact page, we receive your name, email, and message to reply to you. We don't use it for anything else.

What we don't collect

The calculators and interactive tools on GentleTools (like the Reading Speed Calculator) process the values you enter in your browser. Where a tool saves data, it uses storage on your device rather than a GentleTools server-side tool account. We do not send the values you type into these tools to Google Analytics, and we do not use analytics to read your tool data.

Cookies & analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand page visits and which pages and tools are useful. This page-visit analytics is separate from the values you enter into calculators and interactive tools: tool inputs are not sent to Google Analytics. We don't run third-party advertising trackers.

Third parties we use

Kit (ConvertKit) for email delivery, Stripe for payment processing, Google Analytics for page-visit analytics, Google Fonts for typography, and Cloudflare for hosting. Each provider has its own privacy policy governing the data it processes.

Your rights

You can ask us to see, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you, and you can unsubscribe from emails at any time. Contact us using the contact form for any of this.
