How does this work?

Playback speed scales listening time directly: at 1.5x, an audiobook takes two-thirds as long to finish; at 2x, exactly half. We take the audiobook's total runtime and divide it by your chosen speed to get your adjusted listening time, then compare that against normal (1x) speed to show what you save. The queue below applies the same speed to every book you add, so you can see a whole stack's total time at once — and it stays saved here even if you close the tab and come back later.

Most listeners can comfortably follow narration up to around 1.5x–2x after a little practice. Dense nonfiction, unfamiliar narrator accents, or a book you're hearing for the first time are usually easier to follow at a slightly slower speed than a casual fiction re-listen.
