Diagnosis is still billable capacity even when the repair is declined
The shop loses bench time during diagnosis whether the customer approves the final work or not. A pricing model should therefore make diagnostic, repair, test and pickup/delivery labor visible instead of hiding everything inside one guessed flat fee.
Monthly overhead belongs inside the job model
This calculator converts entered monthly overhead into an overhead cost per billable technician hour. That creates a direct link between utilization and pricing: if the shop has fewer realistic billable hours to spread fixed overhead across, each billed hour has to carry more of it.
