Used Car Inspection & Buyer Decision Tool

Turn a parking-lot walkaround into a repeatable decision. Score the same mechanical, body, tire, paperwork and test-drive checks on every candidate, attach repair estimates, then compare the cars on price, risk and first-year cost. Nothing is uploaded.

Candidate cars

Keep up to five serious candidates side by side.

Vehicle details

These figures drive the comparison and negotiation summary.

Buyer score

A consistency tool, not a substitute for a mechanic.

Inspection checklist

Mark each item Good, Concern, Fail or N/A. Add a repair estimate only when you have a defensible number.

Comparison

Price is not the same thing as cost.

Only the issues you actually marked, with your estimated cost behind them.

Why this is built around comparison

People inspect the first car carefully and the fourth one from memory. That makes every later decision noisier. A fixed checklist forces the same questions each time, and repair estimates convert “this one feels cheaper” into a number you can compare.

A good score is not permission to buy. Title problems, structural rust, overheating, transmission faults and safety-critical brake or tire failures deserve disproportionate weight because one line can dominate the economics of the whole car.
